How to enjoy the Sanctuary:
The Sanctuary is protected for everyone to experience Chicago's unique native ecosystems as they might have been before people lived in this area. It is maintained by Chicago Park District Natural Areas staff, contractors, and volunteers with the Community Stewardship Program.
1. Please do not cut flowers. Doing so is harmful to this special ecosystem, and prevents everyone from enjoying its beauty. Take pictures instead!
2. Do not remove plants or insects (including butterfly eggs, caterpillars, & pupae). Please leave them to live happily where they belong!
3. Place garbage in a trash can or carry it out with you.
4. Dismount your bike while in the Sanctuary, for everyone's safety.
5. Dogs are not allowed in Park District Natural Areas, as they may disturb birds and animals.
Thank you for helping this place thrive for the community, future generations, and all of the plants and animals who call it home!
